One bracelet, embodying the diversity of Asia

Sorooor started in Bangkok, Thailand, where I met Afghan traders selling antique and precious stone beads. Among their collection, I found baskets of mixed beads, from precious stones to recycled plastic. Naeem, one of the shop owners, let me explore and create with these beads from Central Asia.

My interest in beadwork grew when I visited Sampheng Market in Bangkok and discovered that many accessory materials came from Korea. As a Korean, I felt inspired to visit Dongdaemun JongHap Market (동대문 종합시장) in Seoul to compare and purchase different beads and components from Korea.

Now, I collect beads during my travels across Central, Southeast, and East Asia. Each piece I create combines unique elements from these regions. The name of our shop, "Sorooor (سُرور)," means happiness in Persian, reflecting my goal for our products to bring joy to those who wear them.

Warmly,

Sorooor
